Trimming the Tree

When the boys were at my mom and dad's, I got all of our Christmas stuff put out with the exception of the tree. I had to wait on the boys to do it, and so we put it up on Tuesday night. They enjoyed looking at all of the ornaments. Landon picked up a basketball ornament and asked whose it was. I told him it was mine when I was a little girl, and he said, "It's mine now."

Lofton unfortunately got sick in the middle of the decorating, and he was upset that he couldn't finish helping me. He did sit on the couch and tell me where to put the ornaments.

First Presents

I buy the boys a Christmas ornament every year that in some way reflects them. This year, I got Landon a Mickey Mouse ornament since he loves The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and I got Lofton a "super gamer" ornmanent that looks like a portable gaming system. The boys both have their own boxes of ornaments, and Lofton loves looking through them as we decorate the tree; it is like he is getting new toys.

Dear Santa,

I had the boys write letters to Santa this year, even though Lofton told me that he would just tell Santa what he wants when he sat on his lap. However, Lofton really got into the letter writing and even drew Santa some pictures. Lofton was so proud of his pictures that he asked me to take a picture of his pictures.

Yes, Lofton asked for Coke, a rabbit, and a dog. I'm not sure which is the worst.

Landon wants cookies and candy as if he doesn't ever get any!

They're on the Good List....

For now! Lofton and Landon received letters from St. Nick himself on Monday. They were both thrilled to learn that they are on the good list. Yogurt, our elf on the shelf, showed up today, and the boys are working hard to keep themselves on the good list since Yogurt is in cohoots with Santa.

Turkey Time

I met my parents in Bardstown, Kentucky the Saturday before Thanksgiving, so that the boys could spend the week with them. It was the first time Landon had been without me, and he did great. The boys had a great time; my mom and dad took them to Billy Bob's, which is a Chuck E Cheese three times. They played outside a lot since the weather was nice, and my parent's neighbors have a zip line which everyone loved. They rented movies and ate a lot of popcorn. I know they made some memories that they'll cherish forever.

Phillip and I got to my parents on Wednesday night late and enjoyed the rest of the week/end with my family. We got to visit my grandmothers and my cousin Chad and his family. Lofton loves Chad's children; as we were leaving his house, Lofton said he wished he lived next door. Mom and I braved the Black Friday crowd and got a little shopping done.

It is hard to believe that we have twenty three days until Christmas. Where does the time go?

Oh, Deer!

Last weekend, Phillip and Lofton went with Jonathan and Jude to Missouri to Jonthan's parents aka Mimi and Pops. Jonathan and Phillip go to deer hunt, and Jude and Lofton go to hang out. Mimi kept them busy by taking them to the park and by letting them cook, play the Wii, and play with Playdough. Lofton was very impressed that not only Mimi and Pops have a Wii but Nana and Pepaw, Amy's parents, have one as well. (They spent one night in Mayfield at Nana and Pepaws.)

When they left for Missouri on Thursday, Landon got very upset until I told him that we were going to Ella's school bookfair and to eat with Ella. He loves Ella and refers to her as "my Ella." He got to spend a lot of time with his Ella because Amy and I took Landon and Ella to Chuck E Cheese on Friday to reward Landon for peeing in the potty, and Saturday Ella and Amy came over for dinner, and then on Sunday, I took Landon and Ella to the park. I also took Landon and his buddy Landon McAfee to the park and Sonic on Friday afternoon, which Landon said was "awesome."

Thanks Randy and Connie for showing the boys a good time, and thank you, Connie for sending me some pictures!
